We always new 11/11/11 was going to be a good day, and it turns out it WAS! My sweet sweet sister and her husband welcomed a healthy baby boy into the world!! He was 5 weeks ahead of schedule but is thriving and ready to go home today! I’m over the moon with excitement for them and can’t wait to snuggle snuggle snuggle.

To catch you up, Molly’s been on bedrest for over a month, and still had over a month to go. Needless to say, she was miserable. I’m so stoked she got the best of both worlds… shorter pregnancy and perfectly healthy baby! Here’s her story:
We knew I was at risk for preterm labor, but this week I felt really great, so I thought for sure we’d make it til after Thanksgiving! Then, Thursday night my contractions started getting worse. They gave me a shot of terbutaline to stop the contractions and sent us home. We were definitely caught off gaurd at our regular appointment the next morning when they told us we would be going across the street to the hospital and getting a C-section in about an hour! (Despite our efforts to get him turned he was breech and I had gone into labor, so they needed to get him out asap)
It was the best thing that could have happened, because we couldn’t worry about the surgery… there was no time! And, with it being 11/11/11 JD mentioned to the anesthesiologist that we shoot for 1:11. He got super excited and threw the whole team into slight hysterics trying to make the time. It was pretty hilarious. Finally the Dr. said we could just tell everyone it was 1:11 cause we weren’t going to make it, but we thought 1:23 was just as nifty.
Its still unbelieveable how much has changed in just 1.5 days. He had a few issues at first (fluid in his lungs, and low blood sugar) but those have totally cleared up and he’s basically a healthy full term baby. So crazy.
I’m in lots of pain at the moment, but super happy, so it doesn’t even matter. We feel so blessed and blown away my the whole magical thing.
Yet another “Good one, God!” I happened to be at a zoo in palm springs while all this was happening. Ahhh Thanksgiving can’t come soon enough. Yay family! Yay love!
