Lovin Life

Let me just start out saying that every night, as I fall asleep, I get excited about the coffee I’m going to drink the next morning.   Life is moving fast and coffee just makes it that much more enjoyable.

Tilly just gets cuter every day, I really don’t understand it.  She’s 8 months now and rolling clear across the room to get where she wants to go.  Earlier today I was working from the living room while she played on the floor, and within moments, she seemed to have vanished.  I found her in the hallway, of course.

A few months ago we finally conquered the night and Tilly started sleeping for 12 hours straight.  That has kind of fallen apart, though… First she started waking up at 4:30 and now it’s more like 3:30.  I give her a bottle and she sleeps in until 7 or so… I’ve been telling myself it’s not that bad, but I think we need to break out the sleep training again!  It worked within a few nights last time, but those nights are HARD.

We have had lots and lots of company lately!  A few weeks ago my Aunt Rose and Uncle Al came, and last weekend our friends Chris and Heidi stayed with us for a few nights.  It’s always nice to go out with guests – We took Rose and Al to Alembic for the best cocktails in SF and we went to Starbelly with Chris and Heidi…. three words: Bacon Jalapeno Spaghetti.  (Also I have to say that having volunteer babysitters is one of God’s greatest blessings.  Kate & Ryan, you are angels.)  Having guests stay over is always a shift from our normal routine, but then again we have extra sets of hands to help so it all balances out.  :)

In a few days our friends Matt, Emily & their 10 month old baby girl Sydney are coming to stay for 3 nights.  I am trying to baby proof as much as I can, but I guess I’ll also just have to edit as I go.  Syd is quite the mover and shaker – I can tell she is going to be a good (aka bad) influence on Miss Tilly!  Maybe she’ll teach her how to crawl.

Any plans for valentines day tomorrow?  Or as we call it, Valen-mimes?  Josh works late, so we celebrated yesterday.  Josh wore a bow tie and I wore a bridesmaid dress, and we watched the grammys from the couch.  Even though Josh fights me on watching awards shows, he suggested that we watch it!  Swoon.
