Mama

My mom came to visit over the weekend and it was the best!  She hasn’t been here in a while and it was so fun to show her around and get her feedback on my system up here.  I felt like it was back to school night and I was proudly walking her from classroom to classroom, except that this time it was the grocery store, Tilly’s daycare, the library, the park.  I’ve realized recently that moms (and dads too) are the original google.  You can ask them how to do anything and they always have a good answer!  I’m so happy she came to visit, she means the world to me and her encouragement keeps me going.

I did this watercolor painting for my mom for her birthday. (Based off of this photocollage of me & Tilly.)  It’s an ode to motherhood and I just love the way it turned out.

Wycinanki

I recently came across these beautiful Wycinanki designs and had to share them! They’re traditional polish paper cutting, don’t you love the colorful, folk art vibe? I used to be pretty handy with an exacto knife and paper. Maybe I’ll try to recreate one of these designs for our apartment. I did a google image search and these were my faves:
