Anthropologie Craft Night

A few weeks back I attended a craft night at Anthropologie hosted by Jordan Ferney of Oh Happy Day.  Can you believe my luck?!  The first 20 RSVPs were accepted and my nimbly pimbly fingers got me in under the gun!  It was totally awesome and gave me some cute ideas for christmas prezzies.

Each place setting had a hand-crafted bag of supplies and a letterpressed instruction card that should probably be framed.  We made flower party hats out of this really amazing italian crepe paper from carte fini.  It’s like sculptable paper, so rad.  The event was 1 hour long, but everyone could have stayed for hours.  It’s about time I hosted another girls craft night – I’ll have to load up on these supplies and see what we come up with!

You can read Jordan’s blog post about the event here (yep there’s my confused  looking mug plastered on my favorite blog!) .  Between this and the Pinterest Party I went to a few weeks back, I’m having the Best Summer Ever.

After the event, my friend Rachael and I went out for a drink the mission wearing our hats – fun fun fun.

Call Me, Maybe

I’ve been thinking about making some calling cards for a while, like a business card but with my personal info on it.  Sometimes I meet other moms at the park or library and it would just be convenient (and cool) to whip one out!  So with the pinterest celebration coming up, I thought it was the perfect excuse.

I downloaded a rad font called Tetra that I saw on How About Orange, and then browsed for cool layouts on Pinterest.  Once I had my layout ready (in Microsoft Publisher), I printed them on white cardstock and sliced them up!  I finished them off with some orange highlighter along the bottom of the stack, for a hint of color (another Pinterest idea).

And wouldn’t you know, I plum forgot them before heading to the party!!  BLAST!  I got locked out on my balcony a few hours before I needed to leave and was super frazzled by the time I got back in.  Luckily I left the house with shoes on.  Anyway, now I am equipped for the future.

Fab Colors

Obsessed with these colors.

Oh, whaaaat?

oh hi.  Just popping in to say hello – my mind has been other places lately I guess!

I do love the simple colors and shapes of this calendar, dont you?  I kind of feel like it’s 2011 already…

perfect.

If you’re into revamping furniture, Manhattan Nest is a must read blog (Josh and Jackie, I’m looking at you).  He goes into so much detail and chocks each post full of sass and attitude.  It’s perfect.  Here’s a good place to start: Desk with a View.

i heart wood

iheartwood just asked to follow me on twitter, so I thought I’d see what they’re all about.  It’s a design blog dedicated to all things wood!  How did they find me and how did they know I’d be their number one fan??  Anyway… this is one thing I saw on their website.  If we had the room to keep bowls of fruit laying around, I’d definitely make one of these.  But we keep our fruit in the fridge.  One day!

poster love

I was 2 seconds from buying this poster last night at the Vetiver + The Mumlers show at The Bottom of the Hill.  It was only $10 and I really wish I had bought it now!  I love love love that illustration style. (I found the image here.)

I did buy this poster though… it was created especially for the show we saw and there were only 50 printed.  Ours is 15/50 and I bought it directly from the artist, which is rad.  This one was a splurge at $15.

The show was SO GOOD.  The venue was tiny and Josh & I agreed that we’d both like to live our lives based on the style of music we heard.  Lots of horns, melody, and an equally dancy/sleepy atmophere.  It was perfect.

And the fact that we could very easily have been convinced that the lead singer was our friend kyle brown kept us giggling the whole time.

California Love

So gorgeous.  So rad.  So expensive.  So worth it?
