Magic Pants

When I watched Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, I thought it was a cute idea, but obviously it’s impossible for one pair of jeans to fit 4 very different girls.  Right?  Lately I’m not so sure…  As I’ve mentioned before, my post-pregnancy body is proving to be more of a challenge than I thought.  My pants fit, sort of, but in reality I just went to Old Navy and bought some jeans that are 2 sizes bigger than I used to wear.  Yes 2 sizes!  Read it and WEEP.

But… I have this one pair of pants that I bought in Paris when I was 19… that have always fit me.  They’re 9 years old and still fit like a dream.  WHAA? They must be the perfect cut, I dunno.  Here I am wearing them today…  Maybe I should take them to a tailor and have them replicated.  I wonder if the magic is transferable like that, or if these just have some Parisian Pixie Dust sewn into the seams.

How about you other mamas out there?  How has clothes shopping been since giving birth?  Do you have any magical items of clothing?

This video from the 1930s predicts what fashion will be like in the 2000s.  Some things are surprisingly accurate, others… yikes.

Zig Zag Gold Rush

Were you in on the whole Missoni for Target hyped-up craziness?  I feel like people have been buzzing about September 13th for months and months, and when the big release date finally came yesterday, people went NUTS.  The lines outside Targets across America rivaled those of Black Friday, and stores were cleared out of the Missoni products within minutes.  Target’s website was shut down for a good part of the day due to such high traffic.  I’m pretty sure that after 24 hours, absolutely everything has been sold at our closest Target in Daly City.

I definitely think the Missoni for Target line is cool, but I’m surprised everyone else does.  It’s super 70s and all their pieces pretty much look exactly the same.  It’s the kind of thing that is totally my style, but I’m turned off because of all the drama around it.  Last night, I was telling Josh about all the crazies, and when I showed him some of the dresses online, he was like “this stuff looks rad, you should have woken up early and bought some!”  Haha, not the reaction I expected at all.  What do you think?  Does Missoni for Target live up to the hype?

Dress Me.

I am in DIRE need of a wardrobe update.  Nothing fits right and it’s all just feeling old.  How cute is this outfit from Kendi Everyday?

This is the best.  I wish I was as inspired to take weekly pictures!  She starts off at about 16 weeks, so right now I’m about the size that she is at the beginning.  This video makes me realize 3 things:

1. Oh wow I am going to be HUGE.

2. Oh sweet I can wear my favorite jean shorts till the very end!

3. Oh how I need American Apparel to somehow sponsor my maternity wardrobe.

Have a fun New Years!  We’re going to a party DJ’d by Zack X on NYE and Soul Night at the Elbow Room on NYD.  FUN!{video is from Pacing The Panic Room – such a great blog!)

Let’s pretend

Let’s pretend it’s not raining and we’re not bulging out of most of our clothes. (not that i’m complaining but this in between stage is killing me)

swoon

This ad is absolutely everywhere in San Francisco, and I’m totally okay with it.  The first few times I saw it, I thought it was a Banana Republic ad from afar.  Then I thought it was a Kings of Leon ad.  (Cringe.)  But no, it’s just John, Paul, George and Ringo looking super hot.  Especially George, right?  In Jack Purcells!  Swoon.

Oh Etsy.

SO clever!  Too bad it was sold a month ago.  Oh etsy and your one of a kinds!

See the shop here.

Lost & Found

Last week I found this rad spool holder on the sidewalk by our apt.  Since I already have good storage for my thread, I thought it would make a great jewelry display.  What do you think?

Isn’t it funny that I have all these lovely necklaces but I still refuse to wear anything besides my California necklace?

This Coney Island photoshoot is dreamy and practically never ending.  And it’s 85 degrees in San Francisco today!  Summer has finally arrived!
